As a mother of two, I’m always searching for ways to get a workout in and keep my children occupied. Usually, I get up at 4 in the morning and workout before the sun even comes up! However, that is not always feasible for me, and I’ve only recently come across Gaiam TV. This new online streaming program is fabulous for everyone, particularly moms who need to get a workout in at home.
Now, you can watch thousands of yoga and workout videos at home at anytime you want! For only $9.95 a month, you can have unlimited access. And watch them over and over.
Being both a yoga teacher and mom of two VERY active boys, I was especially excited to see lots of yoga for kids videos that are really good, appropriate and fun videos for kids. Leah Kalish is the author of Yoga Pretzels and Yoga For Kids ages 3-6, and Yoga for Kids ages 7 and up. Both are fantastic and fun for kids. If you’re a new mom, there are also quite a few offerings for pre and post natal yoga sessions taught by Shiva Rea among others.
In addition, you can watch thousands of movies that might be interesting to you after the kids go to bed, such as The Real Dirt on Farmer John, documentaries such as Turtle Reef, Polar Bears.
GAIAM TV offers multiple ways in which to watch these videos such as on your iphone, your computer and coming soon for those of you with Androids, and the Samsung Smart TV’s.

Planet Gear this week are the Boot Scoot Bikes for toddlers! My kids did fantastic learning to ride a bike on one of these! They are fast, light weight and gloriously fun for them.

If you’re still one of those people who actually wears a watch, these look pretty cute on The Clymb.

The Kavu Kicker is on sale at Left Lane Sports for only $13!

And, finally, I can’t wait to try these crazy rumors lip treatments!

Happy Shopping!

Back in 2008, I wrote a post called, If You Were An Inventor What Would You Create? And, most of the ideas I had then are still relevant today, although, I’m quite certain that with the iphone, ect…you can get apps for the date book one!
So, here goes, what I love most about my workout gear….I love bits and pieces from all the brands and I am not all that loyal to any one brand.
1. Jog Bra. What can I say, each jog bra I have is not perfect. Small chested, big boned, need to wear all day and to the workout AND that would be nice enough as a top on it’s own, if needed.
2. Bra Top. Favorite brand, is Patagonia Hotline Cami Top. Perfect for all day wear, however, not a workout top.
3. Yoga Pants. Hummm….Yes, great for teaching yoga, not doing yoga- most are too hot or too expensive. Most don’t transition as both workout or “playout”.
4. Track Suits/Sweat Suits. Yes, I do own coordinated hoodies and pants from Old Navy, however, they rarely fit the same from color to color and although are cheap, don’t really last and aren’t really all that stylish.
5. One or Two really awesome hoodies! Colorful, looks great with jeans, functional, that won’t break the bank!
What can I say? Do you see a theme here? I wear workout gear 7 days a week and I am opinionated about it. There are lots of brands on the market that do one or the other really well. What I’d really like to see more of is highly stylish, colorful, sexy yoga apparel {not black} that can do go all day and look as good as a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. Suggestions, brands, comments?
What would you want if you could design your own workout apparel?

Yes, one of the perks of being a blogger is the “swag” and today is one sweet piece of equipment! I’ve never worked with nor tried any K-Swiss products so I was thrilled to get the opportunity to try out the Locker Fit Gear Bag. We don’t have lockers at our gym, but, we have cubicles, and this fit perfectly in it!

This particular workout bag is fairly small, yet, fit everything I needed! As you can see, I take two pairs of shoes to workout with – one weight training shoe and one cross trainer style shoe as well as a micro-fiber towel (more on that later), rocket shower, and a change of clothes! Also, you can see on the right, there is a pocket for your sweaty clothes to go in for your way out! The zippers in the front are very large areas that fit the personal items such as sunscreen, deodorant, and lip glosses, phones and keys! This is the most high quality gear bag I’ve ever owned and I am so glad to have it now!
This Unisex Gear Bag will be available from K-Swiss in the spring and it’ll retail for $75.
P.S. This bag was provided to me for purposes of review and the above opinion is my own, FTC!
