I am a phys ed teacher and $250 would be the difference of having 2 more tennis nets or 2 dozen balls or adding an extra pull-up bar on my campus. Thought I should share this contest with you in case you are in charge of a running or physical education program!!

“Your cart should be now brimming over with produce, meat, seafood, and poultry. You are almost ready to split the scene, but, you need a few more items! This will involve a foray into the guts of the store (stay out of the cookie aisle.) While you are there, you can grab a few bars of 85% dark chocolate, some red wine, and a good bottle of tequila. A caveman/cavewoman needs to party, right?” {Taken from The Paleo Solution by Rob Wolf.}
When I first heard about the caveman diet, I was very concerned about giving up all my favorite things. Life shouldn’t be that boring should it?? Well, when, I read the part about 85% dark chocolate, I knew it was a diet I could handle!! In fact, I make a point of eating it everyday…I know it’s a sugar, but, it’s such a good sugar that I don’t want to give it up {And, it is really the only sugar that is in my diet on a weekly basis). I especially love 85% Dark Chocolate by Green and Blacks Organics. Always have.

Next up, a PR note from a Green and Blacks promoting their chocolates for Valentine’s Day! Cool! I requested a variety of samples so that I may nimble daily…{much to my skins’ dismay} and I have enjoyed every single bite. So far, I am still partial to the 85% dark chocolate one, but, the Toffee Nut one is a close second.
To learn more about this amazing chocolate company, please visit their website here.
JUST FOR YOU!!
Green and Black’s Organics have also sponsored a giveaway post for you! Please show some love to them by visiting their website and come back and leave a comment! The winner will receive a variety of Green and Black’s Organics bars such as in the picture above.
Winner will be chosen at Random.org on Friday, Feb. 4th just in time for Valentine’s Day!
EDITED TO ADD THE WINNER! #36 WAS CHOSEN (& EMAILED) VIA RANDOM.ORG
THANK YOU ALL FOR ENTERING!!
P.S. Green and Black’s provided me with the above samples for purposes of review and this is my honest opinion.

For most moms, me included, it takes serious work to carve out time for yourself–whether it’s 8 hours of sleep a night, a workout or getting to a yoga class. It’s hard. Sometimes, it might look and feel like you’re being selfish, but, in the end, if you’re happy, then it’s worth it.
The American Cancer Society would like to encourage all of you to Choose You and make a commitment to yourself. Please click over to their website and commit to one nice thing you will do for yourself this year! As further encouragement, once you do that, come back here and post a comment on your 2011 “choose you” resolution. It could be as simple as an adding one extra veggie or fruit to your daily diet!
Winner will be chosen at Random (.org) on Sunday, Jan. 30th, 2011.
Edited to add: Winner number #33, Sherry Moore was chosen via Random.org!
P.S. The American Cancer Society provided me with the above giveaway kit!

What is your morning routine? Mine is almost always the same; wake -up, workout, drink a chocolate protein powder on the way home, then hopefully eat a big pile of eggs and bacon!

Weight Watchers would love to encourage all of you to jump start your morning routine. They’ve combined some fairly useful items together to make a “Better For You Weight Watchers Kit” which my kids and I received as well. In our kit, we got a $15 itunes giftcard, a yoga mat, an Eco Coffee Cup, 2 boxes of Weight Watchers Coffee Cakes and a box of instant coffee on the go packets. My children and I enjoyed the coffee cakes (they more than me) as well as all the goodies in the kit!
One More Kit For You:
If you’re interested in trying the Weight Watchers Coffee Cakes and would like a chance to win the kit, please leave a comment on your morning routine to win. Winner will be picked at Random on January 15th at 9pm.

The other day I had the amazing pleasure of meeting Sandy Pearson, creator of BIC Bands at my local coffee shop! She happens to be local to me by just a few cities and had offered to meet me rather than send her products through the mail. Even better is the story of how she found me! Under a google search of “top workout blogs” mine came up first on Fitness Magazine! (link here) How cool is that?!?!? {I didn’t even know about it, ha ha ha- so that made my day}
Anyhoo, Sandy was a beginning runner looking for stylish ways to wear her hair back when she was running, saw a few headbands online and decided to make her own. She showed them to a few friends and her business has taken off from there! Since then, she’s used the sale of her headbands to donate to local charities such as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Sandy generously let me try out each of her two styles of headbands. Since meeting her on Monday, I’ve worn the same one all week to school and to workout and had lots of complements! I particularly loved the thicker, more detailed one such as the one pictured above for school, however it worked perfectly fine for intense crossfit workouts as well!
GIVEAWAY POST:
If you’d like to win your own BIC Band, please take a minute and visit her website and come back and leave a comment. There will be two winners chosen at Random on Sunday, December 12, 2010. Even if you don’t win, they are very inexpensive, so go ahead and buy a few! I am.
P.S. The headbands were provided to me for purposes of review and the opinions here are my own.
