About Fit Mom

I’m Steffani. Mother to one daughter, age 6, and two sons, ages 4 and 2.

vines-6803 copy

I finally got sick of carrying around all of my extra baby weight and decided to do something about it.

I started working out at Crossfit East Redlands in July of 2013.  I was able to do a rope climb after about 2 months!

Now I have never had very  much upper body strength and I can now do a kipping pull up and am very close to doing a strict pull up.

I never thought I would see the day when I could do a pull up (of any kind!)

I stay fit thru working out, playing with my kids, and eating healthy.

Join me on my journey to stay fit with all my kids along for the ride!

I just read through your blog and I love it! I was wondering if you’d be interested to interview Denise Austin?

This year, Denise is being honored by Woman’s Day and will receive a “Red Dress Award” for her the fight against heart disease through fitness.

Please let me know if your interested.

    Hey Rachel,

I’ve been following your blog for a few weeks now and I’m inspired by what you’re doing.

If only my mom were as fit and determined as you.

Since you’re into running and interval training, I was wondering if you’d like experience my Treadmill Trainer iPod running workouts.

I guarantee you’ll never run alone after you try these out!

    Let me know.

How fun to find you! I’m relatively new to blogging but I’m blown away by how many other fit mamas there are out there. Motherhood can often feel isolating (especially when you’re trying to make fitness a priority and the neighbors think of you as a circus freak) but after starting my blog I’ve realized how many of us there are out there. See you around (in the blogosphere–perhaps a race someday!).

Happy Monday! I am a certified yoga instructor who loves all things “healthy”. I have just launched a web site that can really help moms stay healthy and save money doing it.

In three minutes anyone can create a personal health and fitness, or mom based market place and share it with their friends. Users get 10% discount on any products from their healthy store and a 10% commission on products their friends purchase so it’s a real win-win… and we have fantastic health, yoga and “mom” products.

    Hi Rachel,
I just happened on your site from a comment on back in skinny jeans. Noticed you are into cycling:) I have a question for you. I enjoy taking spinning classes and am considering buying my own spinning bike. Do you know much about them or could you direct me to any resources that you know of? I know they are a pretty hefty investment, but I’ve seen a wide variety of prices and brands, so I’m curious about my options.

    Hi Rachel/Fit Mom!

Enjoyed perusing your site. Congrats! A hello and proposition of sorts.

I just subscribed to your blog and wanted to introduce myself. As well as introduce you to my new blog ~ an energetic and heartful blog (and foundation) inspired by yoga for modern women (who also happen to be Moms).

This is simply one part of a few things coming down the pike, one of them being the how to be a walking Momtra book.

If you enjoy the blog and mission and/or get something from it, would you like to mention or introduce the site to your readers please?

I am just finishing up a Yogaworks 200 hr training so we have that and a love of yoga and running (and fitness overall) in common.

If you have the time or desire, would love to have you contribute once I get to that point on the blog as well.

Let me know if you have any thoughts on sharing the blog with your readers, as after reading some of your posts, I really think they would appreciate and connect with what how to be a walking Momtra has to say, not to mention really benefit from the practical side of the writing and tips too.

If you have any other ideas or tips, I’d love to hear them.

    Much love and continued success!

I always had a hard time finding articles or some other workout sites where a lot of them do not have kids and I feel they do not understand what a slowed down metabolism is.
