Ever finish a really hard workout, take your shower, eat your healthy food and then sit on the couch and think, “well, I’m done for the day?”? Usually, in our house, we are NEVER done for the day because we have two very busy boys who need supervising attention.
Anyway, if you google “steps for recovery from exercise” you’ll get thousands of hits!!! Included in this would be to eat sweet potatoes and egg whites immediately following a workout (less than 30 minutes) and it should not be counted as a “meal” it’s extra because you worked out that day. Also, mobility work is a MUST. You can check out SMR for ways in which to inflict pain recover from a hard day…Drink tons of water and sleep 8-10 hours a night! Can you all get all that done in the time following your workout? For me, I can get about half of that done, but usually not right away..Foam rolling happens during mommy time, sleep – yes, healthy food, and yes, a shower.
SOME EXTRAS:
Always following a hard workout or even on rest days, I LOVE to spray on the Kool N Fit “Pain Relieving” spray or slather myself with the Muscle Comfort lotion...both are minty/menthol scents acting as a cooling agent to my sore muscles. Both of these products really FEEL GOOD following a workout. I cant’ really tell you if they are doing something other than “soothing tired muscles”! Both the spray and the lotion feel tingly and last for about 15 – 30 minutes and I love it.
What steps do you take to recover from exercise?

I feel like the body is supposed to be able to recover from exercise by itself. Of course you have to drink lots of water and get plenty of sleep, but I believe the body is made the way that it does not need to be sprayed by chemicals and this kind of things. Just my two cents
