This blog has always been about fitness and motherhood and hopefully how to balance it in addition to- my screw-ups what I’ve learned and have always shared it here…
Example A: Tendonitis when Training for St. George
Example B: CrossFit from an Over 40 Mom
In addition to the fitness stuff, there is also the food stuff. Going from a cookie and mocha drinking mom to a non-sugar, non-gluten eating mom has been a huge change. There’s been TONS of supplements that have been “sampled” or reviewed here in the last 5 years. Companies want me to review their products and if it relates to exercise and recovery from exercise, I usually have said yes. I’m not a nutritionist, just a mom looking for good products to help with improving my overall health as it relates to me being an athlete. Rejected products included FRS (a long time ago) and Herbalife to name a few. My current favorite is Stronger Faster Healthier which I use regularly and the company seems to be transparent in their disclosure of ingredients and is also highly reputable with people such as Robb Wolf and the Whole9 life crew.
Luckily, I’ve never tried the products from Bodybuilding.com who are now in big trouble for mislabeling their products with anabolic steroids!!
How thoughtful are you when considering buying a new supplement product? Do you consider rejecting it for the amount of sugar in the product? Or the amount of artificial flavors or in ingredients you can’t pronounce? Is the “proprietary blend” disclosed?
What are your thoughts on the supplement industry? Do you take supplements, if so, which ones do you take and why?

In other news, this obesity graphic shown by Business Insider is eye opening. Click through the graphs of how America has gotten fatter in the last 25 years. It blew me away!
