First, you scope out the entire hotel and find out the good things about it. Is it close to the shops, restruants and coffee shops?
Second, find out how kid friendly it is…This is not always easy. Find the spots where kids are allowed and hang out there.
Third, spend as much time at the pool and jacuzi as possible.
Fourth, walk everywhere, even if it means blisters from those fancy shoes you never wear.
Finally, enjoy the time you have with your kids and friends without all your usual distractions at home.
The best things about small vacations is that you (mom, chef, and laundress) is off the hook for a few days, so ENJOY it!!

I hear you about the last statement you made. It is nice to get a break from being everything! The hardest thing my husband find when going out of town is planning things around our children’s naps. It makes it hard sometimes to enjoy the day because they get so cranky close to their napes and they nap in the middle of the day. One thing we have learned is to do any sort of traveling during their nap time. Makes better for a two night stay.
