5 Exercises to do in Your Kitchen

August 1st, 2011 · No Comments

Hello readers..I’m sitting here at my favorite coffee shop concocting blog posts and low and behold, I hear the Barista discuss how he doesn’t need cardio since he’s a “skinny guy” and he’s been working on his pushups and situps at home.  He turns to his buddy, and he says “I just can’t think of what else I can do at home.”  So, here I am, giving you the answer, since he didn’t ask me, hahaha!  I can always come up with a zillion ways to get a workout in anytime or anywhere!

The following is a list you all could do in your kitchen, while your dinner is cooking on the Bar-B-Que!

10 Upside Down Push-ups (Place feet on a chair and get your bum as high in the air as possible, then lower your head to the floor.  Crown of the head must touch the floor.

20 Bent Over Rows using soup cans, milk jugs, or hand weights if you have them.

30 Scissor Kicks.  Lay on the floor, place your hands under your butt and scissor kick your feet within one inch of the ground. Right/Left is one.

40 Leg Lowers with a Ball between your feet.  Simply lay on the floor and place a ball between your ankles.  Could be a soccer ball or a stuffed animal, doesn’t matter, then simply raise and lower it to the ground.

50 Air Squats. Simple.  Butt must go below parallel!

There you go.  If you have 15 minutes, go for as many rounds as possible in that amount of time.
