Introducing The FruitGuys (A Giveaway Post)

May 17th, 2010 · 107 Comments

Recently, I became acquainted with The FruitGuys and I am so happy I did.  I had never heard of it although it’s been around since 1998! The FruitGuys offers organic local produce delivered to your home or office. This is similar to what I’d receive in the Organic Co-Op I used to participate in. What you will receive will be based on what’s fresh at the moment you place your order. I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to test out this product so that I may share it with you. My box arrived via a special delivery truck (not UPS or USPS) and all my produce was perfectly ripe, crisp and fresh.

Because I live in Southern California, my box contained lots of delicious citrus, strawberries and some of course off the beaten path types of produce including Dandelion Greens and popcorn! However, I have thoroughly enjoyed testing all the produce and my box even came with recipes. Very cool. I have since ordered this for a friend and I’d highly recommend for easy, under $30 gifts for families!

CONTEST TIME!!
And, I have one box to giveaway to one of you. Simply visit The FruitGuys come back and tell us what you think! I was also impressed with the possibility of a school program! Winner will be announced on Friday, May 21st at 9pm.

Awesome idea!! Love that’s it’s so convenient with delivery, where ever you happen to be! I also like the mix of hard-to-find organic veggies & fruits!

  • 2 Tiffany // May 17, 2010 at 7:55 pm

That is amazing that they have a school program. I would be very interested in what would come in my box this time of year because our growing season in Colorado just started. I am wondering if my box would be shipped from CA.

  • 3 Mary // May 17, 2010 at 9:32 pm

Their produce sounds great,it really would make a great gift, for anyone. It’s amazing that they donate over 7,000 pounds of fruit a month to food pantries, and non-profits nationwide! Their Farm Steward program is an awesome, out of the box idea. I think we would all be so much better off, if our country’s small farms could make a comeback!

Great idea for new Moms who find traveling to the farmer’s market a chore, but desperately want organic fresh fruits and vegetables.

  • 6 June // May 18, 2010 at 3:07 am

I agree – what a great concept and gift idea. Makes it easy to find fresh organic fruits and vegetables and helps local farmers, the environment, and those going through a difficult time.

    Out of the box thinking!

  • 35 Shirley Hodge // May 21, 2010 at 3:31 pm

When I lived in Glasgow, Scotland all the markets there offered home delivery of groceries and order online. None here that I can find do unless you live in NYC or Chicage or LA and with my arthritis and implanted knees it is so difficult to shop even with an electric cart so something like this would be a godsend for me. Fingers crossed here in the Poconos

  • 36 Betty N // May 21, 2010 at 3:47 pm

Not only do the products look great; I love their 5 R’s….it is important to me what kind of company I would buy from.

  • 52 Patrice // May 21, 2010 at 5:56 pm

I think it’s great that the produce is picked and delivered to people so quickly, while it’s at the peak of freshness. I’m always on a quest to find dandelion greens, so it’s really nice that that is one of the vegetables that they offer.
