So, we all want our kids to eat more fruits and veggies, right? As far as my family is concerned, there are certain things they will eat and lots of other things that they won’t. One kid will eat carrots with hummus, the other one just plain. It’s not really a battle getting them to eat fruits and veggies but it does take a bit of creativity in getting them to eat enough! One game that really did inspire mine was SuperNoots.
Anyway, I was recently informed of Rockstar Jill and her CD Get Me Goin’ Jump with Jill via a press release and I immediately wrote back for a sample copy. My intention was to use it as music during my fitness stations at school. All the songs on the CD have great messages and the kids enjoyed listening to it. Although, it’s hard to compete with Thriller and Beat It as the most requested songs for their fitness work! It’s nice to throw in some variety to their daily music quota. I positively love the lyrics and the message behind the music, but, my crowd (at school) are a tough group and this music only worked for my under 7 primary children.
Meet Jill:

Jump with Jill is a multimedia health program that teaches kids about nutrition through entertainment. The show is currently formatted as a touring live show, an audio CD, and a blog. Jump with Jill addresses an urgent need to connect with kids in a time when advertisements for high fat, high sugar foods and endless opportunities to choose the couch over physical activity are at an all-time high. Jill Jayne turns the media machine on its head to produce interactive media that gets kids engaged, moving and learning. (from the website)
Please go listen to snippets of her songs on itunes or on her own site and let us know what you think!
