Very Thankful.

November 27th, 2009 · 1 Comment

On the eve of Thanksgiving Day, I have the chance to look back and really analyze the good stuff.   First, I want to say thank you, readers for reading and supporting this blog.  Second, too often I get sucked into the “why me?” crap {spent 1.5 hours driving home from the mountains with a very sick, puking, whining 3 year old} only to realize that both kids are healthy and happy 95% of the time.

*Thankful for my strength and excited that I can do a handstand.

*Thankful that I married an incredibly smart, athletic cyclist who is NOT one who will spend hours watching mindless TV.

*My quads.  They’ve taken me a LONG way and I hope they take me through many more years of workouts, marathons and bike races.

*Athletic genes and upbringing.  Thankful for having a dad who took us all over the US in a white station wagon showing us every National Park this side of Yellowstone and for introducing me to running and triathlon at a very early age.

*My incredibly creative now 6 year old!  I’m sure he will be creating something when he grows up!

*Big wet kisses from my youngest.

*Yoga Training

So, yes, truly thankful for the life I have now.  And, if I spent more than a milisecond recognizing the good stuff DAILY, I’d prolly be less cranky.

“I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought; and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder.” – G.K. Chesterton

It’s often hard to keep things in perspective isn’t it? Thanks for the reminder!
