Absolutely random list of items that I’ve found amazingly helpful or useful in my life recently.
1. Philip Urso’s Power Yoga on iTunes. LOVE IT. He has 15 or more podcasts all available on itunes that are FREE. Simply download to ipod, roll out yoga mat and you are good to go. I will be the first to admit that Saturday mornings, I let cartoons happen so that I can do at least 60 minutes of Power Yoga via podcast. The cool thing is that although, he gets right to business (not a lot of beginning poses- you go straight to downdog), he still conveys all the yoga messages via his way of teaching yoga. And, I’m always SORE, really SORE from it. I’m thankful for having yoga available to me and to YOU FREE.
Note: You will need to know basic yoga alignment to be sucessful at these!
2. YogaKids: Educating the Whole Child

This book has been invaluable to me in teaching yoga to kids. It’s helped me step down from the “where does your foot go” to just having a little silly fun with my students. From ages 18 months to age 12, I use this book to help me create lessons that are appropriate for them. It’s also appropriate for any mom wanting to teach their child yoga. We use lots of songs in my yoga classes – such as “I’m a little teapot” and “Row row row your boat” to help the child find the yoga poses. I am thankful that I’m getting paid to do this. I can’t imagine having a better paying job than doing yoga with kids.

So this is the first month that I’ve ever read this magazine! Who reads this one? I love it! I found each article to be on a positive note, designed to help you feel better, eat better, do yoga and “live your life on your terms” article. Just found the magazine to be really calming, uplifting and motivating. I will be repurchasing this one. It’d be great to read when you are taking those quiet moments for yourself – like in a hot bubble bath.
Do you have a TOP THREE in your daily life? What’s working for you?

I’m definitely looking into that podcast, but I also wanted to thank you for mentioning the magazine. I haven’t read body+soul before, but I’ve found that I’m canceling many of my magazines lately because I’m tired of them screaming “Lose X pounds in a week!” or “Drop a size by Friday”. I would rather magazines promote health without reinforcing the message that everybody needs to fit into certain numbers (weight or clothing size).

I read every article in “Body and Soul”. It has tons of information on being green…, living the organic life style…, and being good to yourself. Super!

Hi,
Yoga is beneficial for the health in ways that modern science is just beginning to understand. Even though it has beenapplied with therapeutic intention for thousand of years, Yoga Therapy is only just now emerging as a discipline initself.
More health care practitioners are starting to include yogic techniques in their approach to healing — andmore yoga teachers give a therapeutic intention to their teaching. People who have never tried yoga before are startingto consider including Yoga in their treatment plan.
As science begins to document the importance of understanding the interrelation of all existing things, it looks to Yogawith an intrigued eye, for Yoga speaks Unity in every word. As yoga techniques are researched and new data is gathered,it becomes easier for science and the medical establishment to understand and accept the benefits of Yoga Therapy.Yet there is still not one consensual definition of the discipline.
In order to arrive to an adequate definition and tocome up with proper standards for Yoga Therapy, it is crucial at this early stage to properly address some delicateprofessional and ethical issues. At the same time it is important to educatethegeneralpublic about Yoga Therapy’sbenefits and careful use.
so this article will really helpful to me..
