Melanoma is probably the most unwanted illness for all individuals. I'd rather have severe skin irregularities than to have a cancerous cell on my body. It might be good as well if you will just visit your doctor on a regular basis to constantly monitor your body.

Yeah, I had a scare a few years ago. It turned out to be nothing (kinda mad I have an ugly scar now!). I have to say the sun protective clothing really helps me. I know if I have my sun-shirt on I am being protected. When it's just sunscreen--I am obsessively re-applying because I'm always wondering if it is still working. And who knows what all those chemicals in that sunscreen is doing to me! Solumbra and Coolibar are my favorite sun protection wear companies. Also I try to eat and take lots of anti-oxidents for prevention from the inside--otherwise known as eating your sunscreen!

Oh and cancers can come up anywhere, not necessarily where you have been sun exposed. I knew someone who had cancerous cells on their vulva! (and no, she was not a nudist!) So be sure to check less obvious places and enlist your partner to check out areas that are difficult for you to see like your back, hairline, etc....

I'm glad you made it in to get checked. Maybe you have given a reminder to those who are still putting it off! I'm sure everything will turn out fine.
