Yoga, Kids and Me

September 11th, 2009 · 1 Comment

Teaching yoga to kids and what I’ve learned so far.

1.  They love music.

2.  They love silliness in frog pose.

3.  Too many hard poses leaves them frustrated.

4.  They love coming to yoga, getting their mats out, taking shoes off and just being someplace else.

5.  I enjoy using words like “I am strong” when teaching poses because it helps teach them that they are strong.

6.  Kimbo Kids and Bingo Kids on itunes are some great resources for teaching kids yoga.

7.  I have a lot to learn.

And, I’ll close with a quote:

If I’m losing balance in a pose, I stretch higher and God reaches down to steady me.  It works every time, and not just in yoga.  ~T. Guillemets

Yoga is very hard and meditation is a great tool to help for all and get the most output of every session
