A Place to Go With Kids: Fort Worden

July 18th, 2009 · No Comments

We are back to the land of the living **sigh**. Seattle is beautiful, full of things to do and in the summer (at least) has great weather. Ever come back from vacation feeling like you’ve been in a time bubble? What you did on vacation is forever etched in your memory but the minute you walk back in your house you feel the weight of the world on your shoulders? I do. My kids had a fabulous time and their best part? Well, it depends on who you ask, but really, they loved flying! And the ferry rides and eating in the space needle and etc..My favorite part other than eating and seeing my family was going to yoga everyday.

A few more goofy photos from the trip:

Fort Worden, Port Townsend, Washington

We could have spent the entire day just here- on Fort Worden. Not only is there a Marine Museum, Natural History Museum, Beach, Campgrounds, more beach and an actual FORT. Like a real fort where there is underground tunnels, hiding places, lookout towers, ladders to climb, old machinery from the turn of the century for kids to play on…and on and on…Just plan on a flashlight and be prepared to hide from friends and family! What a blast! You can slam doors and pretend all kinds of things…

Have no idea what my kids are doing, but they are having fun goofing off with their Daddy and Grandpa!

What’s your favorite place to take your kids when on vacation or otherwise?
