This is the time to visit California, if you ever get the chance. These pictures were taken from White Water Preserve (halfway between my house and palm springs). We all played hooky on Wednesday and came here for a fantastic day of hiking, feeding Rainbow Trout, playing in the fast flowing stream, and generally enjoying the outdoors!
There are 4 beautifully landscaped trout ponds with some pretty awesome looking rainbow trout. Tons of them are in each pond and the kids are given huge cups of food to feed to the fish. Even the parents loved feeding the fish and watching the trout fight over the food!
On all the large rocks surrounding this wondrous place are quotes by Ralph Waldo Emerson, John Muir and Walt Whitman (none of them I remember at the moment) but I found this one that speaks to me:
