Anti-Inflammatory Foods & Lifestyle Choices

February 6th, 2009 · 9 Comments

What foods cause inflammation in your body? Ice cream, whole milk, banana and mango are some foods that are considered the worst for your body (from some sources I’ve read… see below)

There are many foods that can REDUCE inflammation in your body. Here is a pocket guide to the Inflammation Free Diet Plan book and the best foods to eat.  Considering my current issues with inflammation in my knees, this list should be on my shopping list weekly but so far, it’s been..humm well, hit or miss?!  I can’t say that I’ve eaten Salmon, Ginger or Tumeric  in the last month.

Flaxseeds

Salmon

Strawberries

Olive Oil

Spinach

Carrots

Spinach

Kale

Collards

Garlic

Grass Fed Beef

Ginger

Tumeric

Green Tea

Cherries

Leading and a lifestyle that will reduce inflammation in the body includes YOGA.  Here is another article on how yoga can reduce inflammation too.  (link)

I was glad to read this article! Coffee supposedly helps reduce the inflammation!

Since, I’m a rookie in the areas of curing inflammation and eating the very BEST foods all the time, I was wondering if you could offer your wisdom on this issue?  What do you all think of this research? What are your thoughts on eating fatty acids daily?  Why are bananas bad (other than the fossil fuel business)?

Check out the Advanced Omega on my company website. In addition to it and eating lots of salmon (cuz i love it) I take an Evening Primrose Oil supplement. I take my multivitamin/superfood and Genesis and have no troubles with my knees anymore. =) worth a shot.

Mango? Really? How weird! I eat a lot of flax and take a fish oil supplement. I eat a lot of AI foods already, but don’t know much about the “bad ones.” I’m still reeling over mango. Bummer.

I think this is a great post. I am a huge fan of essential fatty acids and have been studying their benefits to the human body for some time now. Omega 3, 6 and 9s in the proper ratio, are “essential” for our bodies since we don’t produce them naturally and should be included in our diet daily.

Thanks! I’m totally interested in doing whatever it takes to get my knees uninflammed! I’ve also been told about ginger, tumeric in pill form for knee inflammation.
