Grand Central Station…

December 24th, 2008 · 9 Comments

Dear Readers,

Here’s to wishing you a safe, healthy, restful holiday!  I will be the hostess for multiple family gatherings in the next few days and am planning on a few days off of blogging.  Will be back on Boxing Day ready to start planning 2009!

Miscellany:

A photo for KCH is here.  This was my Grandmother’s mothers and I have no idea how to use it.  It’s just part of the family heirlooms that I happen to have.

For the holidays, I have prepared from scratch meat lasagna, butternut squash lasagna, and tiramisu.  In addition, there will be several veggie dishes served, but, I am planning on enjoying the holiday food!

As for a workout, there will still be something done on each day.  Heavy lifting tomorrow and hopefully a family bike ride on Christmas day.  If nothing else, grab a jump rope for 15 minutes and go HARD!!  We enjoy exercise as much as we enjoy the food.

Start Planning!!  I am currently in the process of formulating my 2009 goals.  Now is the time to write yours as well.  If it is to lose 5 pounds of body fat, complete your first 5km, finish a triathlon, run a marathon or try out new workouts, now is the time to start thinking about it.

Reading:  I am currently enjoying another book by Jodi Picult called My Sister’s Keeper and although the subject matter is rough- it’s been a good read so far.  Also, have a stack 2 inches thick of magazines to read including the newest Runner’s World, Women’s Running, Women’s Health, and Clean Eating.  And although, I have presents to wrap, children to care for, I am still hoping for a few minutes of quiet!

Winners of Contests: The winner’s of the KEEN contest, the SmartOnes contest, and the Life Fitness Heart Rate Monitor have all been emailed.

With Love,

Rachel

That’s a beautiful piece, but I don’t think it’s functional in its present state; it might be missing a couple of pieces. I’m pretty sure your wheel is what is called a ‘great wheel’. If I’m right, this is what it would look like with all of its pieces: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Conner-prairie-spinning-wheel.jpg
