Fun, flirty and there’s one for you!

October 21st, 2008 · 159 Comments

Ready for your next 5km? This is THE skirt for the race! Cute, sassy, and easy to wear. This very cute running skirt has a mesh brief attached to the skirt along with a wide mesh waist band. There are two side pockets on the outside for your IPOD, gels, or keys!

If you’re a regular here, you know I always run in a skirt. I have my favorites for different activities…and I love them all for different reasons. This one is absolutely a blast to wear! I wore it to my school for our weekly run club and I loved all the parents who actually turned to watch me run by- then to have them read, “You’ve been passed by a skirt” tank top. Loved it. I felt really sexy in it. The mesh briefs underneath did not budge or ride up at all. The only thing that I wish was different about this skirt is the length. I would love at least 3-4 more inches of thigh coverage. The length of the skirt made it a bit tricky to stretch in public.  (They also sell one called an “Athletic Skirt” that offers a bit more leg coverage and has compression shorts underneath).   But, if you were wearing this for a weekend race, you’d be fine. In fact, you’d probably run faster because you feel so good in it!

RunningSkirts.Com was started by twin sisters (Cindy and Christy) who were training for a marathon and really wanted a cute, sexy skirt to wear. This skirt has been featured in Runner’s World, Chicago Athlete, Fit Pregnancy, and Oxygen Magazines. I recently interviewed Cindy via email and she had a lot of great tips to share on how she balances being a competitive athlete, a new mother, and run a successful company (read interview here). They also give back to the community by donating to various charities throughout the year- right now they have a special promo right now 20% off on all their pink skirts when you mention “Race for the Cure” in the checkout notes and they will donate 5% towards Breast Cancer Research (October, 2008).

There’s one for you!

Running Skirts.Com is giving away one RED POLKA DOT SKIRT to one of you lucky readers! How cool is that? Click over to Running Skirts.Com and check out their amazing selection of colors and sizes and come back and place a comment. Winner will be chosen at Random on October 26th, 2008 at 9pm PST.

Thanks for pointing out another great product. I demoed a running skirt ( diff.company) a couple of years ago, but never got around to ordering one. These look great! I love that they offer options for other sports too!
    Thanks again,

    Very cool!

My wife presently has a black running skirt, but she’d sure look foxy in the red polka dot. Good stuff!

I really want to be a “skirt runner”, but so far haven’t found one that I really like. (Okay, I’ve only tried the Target kind and a Brooks one…) I have to admit I’m a little scared of the ones that just have the spankies or briefs under instead of a full compression short. What if there is a strong wind gust? ;-)

I do like the RunningSkirts.com feature on maternity wear… as a runner who is planning on getting pregnant in 2009, that section impressed me.

I love the look of running skirts and I would love one. I have not bought one because money is super tight but boy would I love one. Maybe for Christmas. Since I have had 2 girls I am all about the pink – but red polka dots will work well, as my 3 year old says I love pink and red.

When I first sae the words “running skirt”, I couldn’t begin to imagine what in the world it would look like! Who ever heard of running in a skirt?! But now that I’ve been to the website, it makes sense; women play tennis in skirts, and that involves running, right? And I’m with you about the longer skirt for more coverage. I may have to go find one & try one on! maybe that would get me motivated to get back out on the road.

These are two smart ladies! My MOST favorite thing about these skirts begins with a P: a pocket! As a former elementary teacher who constantly searched for dresses and skirts with pockets, these skirts are now my dream come true for retirement running. (Hope that doesn’t conjure up a scary picture for most of you readers – I only weigh 98.6!)

I have been overweight my entire adult life and have never worn dresses or skirts. I’ve spent the last year losing 50 pounds and have found that I love wearing skirts. I’ve also recently realized I love running so this would bring my 2 new passions together!

Runningskirts.com is such a terrific website. I think the red polka dot running skirt is just adorable! I would wear this all the time – I run faithfully at least 4 miles about 4 times a week. I also walk our Black Lab dog twice a day as well as stroll our 5 month old daughter around the neighborhood weather permitting. I can envision myself living in this skirt and looking so darn cute at the same time! I love to stop in our local coffee shop on the last lap of my run so this is something I can wear out in public and not be embarrassed by how I look or what I am wearing. This is a most versatile little skirt! Thank you for offering this terrific giveaway!
