In Honor of Breat Cancer Awareness Month

October 14th, 2008 · 2 Comments

My BEST memories as a child of my grandparents happened at Christmas time.  My GP’s would fly in from Indiana and stay with us for two weeks.  GP would take me and my brother’s out for Winchell’s donuts and my GM would cook all day every day.  She would be the ONE telling me NOT to slam the doors, how to behave, taught me generosity and how to be good neighbors.  She started fighting cancer at age 50 and did not stop fighting cancer until she was 93.  By the time she passed away, she had had colon, breast, and uterine cancer.  She was the one was said, “Getting old ain’t for sissies.”  When faced with adversity, she was a FIGHTER!  Always wanted to live another day.  Willing to have yet another surgery so that she may continue to enjoy living.  She is my inspiration today.  So, in honor of Olive and the fact that it is BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH, I would like to highlight a few companies (whom I was able to contact directly..I’m sure there are many others!!) that are giving back in the FIGHT against breast cancer.

Companies committed to finding a cure for breast cancer…

Here’s a youtube video from one of our running teams last weekend!”
