Taken from the NY TIMES yesterday.
Who’s running a fall marathon in 2008? Say I if you’ve experienced aches and pains while training?!
This comic strip found on the athlete’s page of the NY Times yesterday is hilarious! As I recall, every time our mileage increased, we had new and or different aches and pains in our bodies. Thankfully, none of my group became seriously injured while training, however, we’ve come a long way! Among the many lessons learned, is that stretching is mandatory, yoga and recovery are equally important and learning how to listen to your body is a SKILL.
I can’t wait to just get out there and RUN. Good luck to the rest of you runner’s!

You are so going to rock that marathon!! Good luck, I can’t wait to read about it.
I have my first marathon in 19 days myself and am trying not to have a nervous breakdown (not very successfully, I might add). Any tips?

that is such an inspirational and amazing story. I am training for a half marathon myself, and boy is it a lot work. So far I am doing a good job of keeping my self motivated.
I have been working on health site called peoplesmd.com. There is some great information on diet, fitness, and healthy lifestyle. I think you guys would really like it!
