Ok, everybody, tomorrow morning, I’m out the door for my last LONG run. (Big song and dance over here) Plan is to drive to the closet mountain and run down into my town 20-22 miles is the goal. Except, I must run alone. Dearest hubby did this today, so, I missed running with my buddy. Honestly, my feet have been dragging all week long worrying about this run. All this downhill running has killed my legs. Hamstrings particularly. Shoe problems have also plagued me first with too small shoes, then too big…I will be trying out a different pair in the morning.
Fear. Worry. Pain. What if I can’t do it? What if I can’t run as fast as I want? What happens if I hurt myself?
Here’s what I did to remotivate myself.
Loaded my IPOD with tons of rock and roll.
Created a photocollage of all things that motivate me such as runners, cyclists, “runstoppable”, etc. An old creative trick we all did in high school but is still fun as an adult. I’ve read about this technique in Jack Canfield’s Success Book and in The Sound of Paper by Julia Cameron. At least it got my positive wheels turning and images of strong women being successful. So, after all that, I really feel better about tomorrow’s run.
Hubby will have kids loaded in double jogger and is planning on riding the last 10km with me.
Mantra: Just keep running
Wish me luck!

I know that you are going to do awesome tomorrow. I look forward to hearing about the journey. It helps me reach my own goals knowing people as strong has you still have mountains to climb.

Everybody need s good kick. I wish you luck. Even a BBOR knows they need to encourage others. Enjoy the run, enjoy the music and enjoy kicking your own butt for a better future!

Music can be so motivating. I amthinking of listing my favorite running tunes. When I hear your mantra, I think of Dory in Finding Nemo, “Just keep swimming, swimming swimming.” Can you tell I have toddlers?
