We interrupt our regularly scheduled topics of running, fueling and hydrating to bring you this wonderful company. I need to dream bigger and laugh more. That is for sure. I always get so serious about everything. So, here is a chance to laugh out loud with me.
On Sunday, after the run, we took the kids to the Star of India on the San Diego Harbor. We got to tour four fantastic boats- all unique, old with tons of ropes. The temperature on the street was in the 80’s but out on the harbor it was windy and cooler. These LAF (short for Little Angel Face) shirts have detachable sleeves so we could take them on and off as needed. Great invention. Kids loved them too cause it gave them some power. I loved that even though it was hot and sunny, they were still content with the sleeves on. Creative designs include “Laugh out Loud”, “Love to LAF”, and “Dream Big, Laugh Often”.

I don’t know if this would make anyone else laugh, but my 2 year old has lately been demonstrating a great imagination. Whenever he hurts himself (falling down, stubbing a toe, etc), he’ll claim a dragon or dinosaur bit him. I’m not entirely sure he hasn’t convinced himself of his tendency to be attacked by prehistoric beasts–he gets very insistent about it!

my daughter is in the phase of asking what everything is all the time.
but she phrases it:
WHAT THAT IS?
and I friggin adore it. everytime. so much so that *I* am careful never to say WHAT IS THAT as I wanna preserve as long as I can…

My granddaughter is learning her abc’s. One of which is the letter x. We were having a blast at the mall because she did a “ook! OOK!” and I saw the letter X so we were laughing and saying it when I noticed some frowning people going by, obviously disapproving. I couldn’t figure out why until I realized it was a promo for sex and the city and they thought I was teaching her the word sex.

our favorite summer activity this summer has been going fishing. My daughter thinks that the worms should be free thou so she keeps putting them into the lake. When we ask why she just says that they need to be with their family

My favorite family activity was always hanging out with my Sons, especially camping. They are grown now and I really miss the hiking, fishing, boating and gopher fishing we use to do. Yes, my boys fished for ground gophers at the campground!

One of my favorite things to do with my family is play games. My dad made his own set of cards for the game Compatibility with pictures from our family, and it’s so funny to see how different we all are.

Picture it… Daughter in backseat is grumpy. Mom (me) turns around (while at a red light of course) and makes a riduculous face, complete with tongue sticking out and head shaking like a crazy woman to make her laugh. Mom looks up to see a lady she knows in the car behind her. Embarrassing for me, possibly humorous for you

Looks like fun times and happy kids – what a great way to finish the day after your race!
Funny story (I have several, so here’s one): When our youngest son was in 1st grade, the teacher caught him in the bathroom mooning all the other kids who came in. Needless to say, we got a call home from the teacher on this one. But she could hardly stop from laughing as she told us. And then…my wife has the nerve to accuse me of teaching him this behavior…I think she did it!!
I’ll take a pass on the prize – our kids are all too big

My youngest who is almost 3 tends to mumble when he answers me so I always have to say “YES or NO?” to get him to give me an answer I can understand. So yesterday I was working in the kitchen and he asked me a question and I said “Yeah” he came back with “what?” so I said “Yeah” again. He then said “Yes or No momma” He was very serious about it too!!
Thanks for the great contest and introducing a great product!

We love going to the beach but now that our son is almost 2 he wanted to run into the crashing waves and get swept away so it made actual beach time stressful. I am looking forward to when he will love to play in the sand and build sand castles!

My daughter has a couple funny quirks. First, she likes to climb into things. One of her favorite things to do is to climb into my pots and pans, even though she is way too big to fit into them. (She is 20 months old.) Second, she likes to accessorize. Her favorite things to accessorize with are hats, glasses, shoes, and my underwear. She will go into my underwear drawer and put my underwear around her neck like a necklace. Luckily, she hasn’t done that when company was over!

We like to go on day trip. Sometimes it’s close by like to the zoo. Other times it’s an hour or so away. This last weekend we went to this huge outlet/junk place. We hardly bought anything but had fun looking at stuff.

When she was small, my niece used to walk by people and say, “Part of me” instead of “Pardon me.” It made perfect sense to her, since she was trying to get by.

My favorite thing to do with the kids as a family is to go to the zoo. We bought a zoo membership which has really been fun because when babies are born we’ve been able to visit once a month or so and we see how they grow. My kids have named the animals and my daughter has always had this habit of waving to animals as if they could ever wave back. But she still does it and it must be her way of connecting to them and saying, remember me? I’m your friend. It’s awfully cute. So long answer short, the zoo!

With my older kids I sometimes joke around with them and I will jokingly say “I’m gonna kick your a**”…..and since I don’t say it all the time, it surprised me when my son took something away from my 3 yr. daughter and she yelled (over & over) “Momma, kick his a**! That guy over there (pointing at brother), kick his a**!” So to make her stop saying it, I told her it only works if you say butt instead, then she said “kick his butt” and I pretended to beat him up (trying not to laugh) and she hasn’t said it since…so far.
