SuperGreen Drink

July 21st, 2008 · 2 Comments

There is an amazing number of NEW energy drinks on the market today.  More and more are organic, free of high fructose corn syrup and completely jam packed with superfoods.  A superfood is an ingredient in the actual fruit that typically has a higher ORAC value than others.  For example, spinach has a higher ORAC value than ice berg lettuce, you know that right?  Cell-Nique is one of those new energy drinks that offers 31 Superfoods, 11 supergreens and 5 superfruits all in one drink.  Available flavors are Pomegrante, Citrus Vanilla, Tropical Fruits, and Apple and Kukicha Tea.   I have enjoyed the Cell-Nique website with the “bountiful bliss” soundtracks, images of healthy people, and happy people.  There is even a 10 minute meditation on each bottle.

The philosophy behind Cell-Nique:

Cell-nique, is the first delicious organic Super Green Drink made from a blend of natural whole Super Foods and herbs that support the rejuvenation of your cells by bathing them in pure phyto-nutrients and anti-oxidants.

Cell-nique is an exclusive proprietary blend of organic and natural whole foods, physician-formulated to provide you with the essential daily requirements of vitamins and minerals that your body needs to succeed!

Cell-nique quenches your body’s thirsty cells reviving them with the proper acid/alkaline balance, which strengthens your immune system, increases energy, and improves metabolism, digestion, and mental acuity.

Cell-nique supports and promotes detoxification, rejuvenation and replenishment of cellular regeneration by bathing your cells in pure phyto-nutrients and anti-oxidants which helps to counteract cellular damage from years of less than ideal eating habits and residual toxins in the body.

My children are great testers of things and we all enjoyed this Cell-Nique Superfood drink.  I thought it tasted like tea with one exception– a whole lot of grass when you got to the bottom.  Vigorous shaking still leaves residue at the bottom but I figured that was the superhealthy ingredients so I drank those too. Didn’t taste all that great.

If this drink was sold at my local health foods store, I would probably buy it as a special treat for myself.   The bottles ranged from 84 calories to 104 and each ingredient is organic and healthful for your body.  My only reservation is the reasoning to drink this every day.  11 SuperGreens in one drink would be impossible to obtain in your regular diet (I think).  There is no reason to NOT want to buy it.  Except, and this is just me, I resist wanting/needing a product that I need to drink everyday for optimal health.

Are you taking a Super Green/Antioxidant everyday?  If so, what do you take?  Do you make a SuperGreen Smoothie daily?  Anybody try supergreens in a powder?

Wow that cell-nique looks pretty great. I guess I really need to try and add more super greens into my diet.

I work with Genesis Today, a well-respected nutritional supplements company that has a long history of using wild harvested super fruits in its products inlcuding its new ready-to-drink superfruit blended juices called Boost. While it is exciting to see superfruits growing in popularity, I would urge consumers to make sure when buying superfruit products of any kind that they read the label to make sure there is enough of the superfruit in the product to provide the benefits these fruits are known for. ALso, research the company behind the product. If the superfruits are improperly processed, all of the nutritional benefits can be sapped out of them and you’ll be buying “dead” juices instead of living fruits that retain the therapeutic properties we’re all looking for from superfruits. Bottom line: make sure you know what you’re getting and from whom! :) And, forgive the promotion, but in case you’re interested in learning about Boost superfruit juices please visit http://www.genesisboost.com. All the best!
