For those of you in need of structured workouts, but can’t make it to the gym then demandFITNESS might be your answer. Demand Fitness is an online website that has over 250 downloadable workout videos to check out. For an incredibly low monthly fee, you can have access to TONS of helpful workouts. This program would be especially good people do not have access to a gym, or who need to be home with their children or for people who travel a lot for business. The website is easy to navigate and offers “troubleshooting” advice on every page- it seems everybody’s computer is different so viewing the videos might need to be tweaked a bit. I run Mozilla Firefox and I needed to “zoom” the video in order to see it on the full screen- but once I figured it out, it worked great.
The variety of videos is enormous. It goes from Cardio Kickbox to Kettlebells to Balls and Bands and athletic conditioning. If you’re into striptease there is a complete 27 minute cardio session teaching you exactly how to move your hips (ha ha ha). Cardio Dance was similiar but if you’re into that sort of thing or if you wanted to learn particular moves in the privacy of your home- then you should check out Demand Fitness. I thought the videos with the balls and bands were particularly well taught and demonstrated. As far as the running drills- not so good on the demonstration. In addition there is Hatha Yoga, Power Yoga, Heavyweight Yoga…demand it, and you will get it. You can watch little previews of each one before downloading it to your computer or you can just watch it live right then.
FOR YOU READERS:

This looks like a great website! With ever rising gas prices, I can’t afford the luxury of a gym membership. I get bored with doing the same dvd over and over again. The large variety of workouts available would keep things fresh and fun!

this site is such a fantastic idea, wish i’d thought of it first

Ooh I would love to win this and learn how to do a striptease
I’m not real good with my hips, and this might motivate me to get some kind of activity in.

great site. and since i am a wanna-be-stripper I went to the striptease workout…but c’mon, what stripper do you know wears red jazz shoes? Clearly she has never worked at SCORES. I did my homework…I am the proud owner of 5 inch clear heels

The videos look like they are easy to follow. I love the selection. I can pick my style minutes before I would want to do it, rather than have to take whatever class is available at the gym during my available time.

Cool video! Please enter me for this.

This time of the year I’m usually outside running already but I’m not doing so well. I could use a little living room motivation to kick start the season.

I am a mom of 3 year old twin girls who never took off the baby weight. Just now starting to get serious about it. I think i could follow alot of them!

I’ve never heard of this site before but I use Exercise TV on demand almost every day and this is kind of along that vein. In any case, I watched 2 videos and the style seems to be exactly what works best for me. I also like how they have charts and you can move progressively toward your goals by using the recommended videos each day. I get bored doing the same thing all the time and I also like to keep my muscles guessing so they don’t get too lazy. I’d love to win this. It actually sounds like something that I would really get benefit from.

24 Samantha Pruitt // May 26, 2008 at 4:59 am
i watched the cardio striptease video, that looks like it would be really fun! and you could move those moves somewhere else too! hahaha!
25 Suzanne Bastien // May 26, 2008 at 5:00 am
Hmmm.. it’s an interesting site. I’m actually kinda of liking it. I love the Cardio dance, though, the woman who does it is.. different. I don’t totally like the backdrops they use, but, I guess it’s not about the asthetics huh?
I could totally use this. It even has beginners yoga for people and beginners Tai Chi.. a good start for those people who find the gym atmosphere to be intimidating. It’s a good site

28 Paula Harmon // May 26, 2008 at 12:40 pm
Mom of 4, stay at home, tired, and sick of my big butt following me around! Stop it! I love this idea because even if I could afford the gym, I’d be intimidated for sure.

They make it look very comfortable/familar, set up in a living room instead of a posh gym. They look great.
30 Janet F // May 27, 2008 at 4:38 am
I watched the ab video and it was perfect.

I could seriously use this prize!
35 Kimberly Morghan // May 27, 2008 at 5:17 pm
Wow - they really have a lot of choices. I’m not sure I’d do the “strip tease”, but the cardio and abs look like good classes. And that intro to Callanetics should be good - those are really great exercises for toning the whole body while strengthening the back (I’ve got the original book version of those exercises).

I could use this, I never seem to have the time to work out!

42 Kobi Hendrix // May 28, 2008 at 12:42 am
This would be great!! I’m working with a nutritionalist on good food choices and have lost 43 pounds so far. This would be a great help!
43 Heather C // May 28, 2008 at 12:42 am
I would really love to check out the goal tracker and the fitness tracker. Seem fairly easy to use, and might be a motivating factor. Plus, it’s like you can have a trainer with you as long as there’s an internet connection. The demo video I watched was pretty good.
44 SJ // May 28, 2008 at 3:21 am
This would be wonderful to have! I mean really, what a great concept. And I love the selection of videos. I’d love to try it out for 6 months!
