We all know that I am seriously active! I have two small children, under 5, and I workout everyday. I do not watch any TV and I cook dinner from scratch every night. We never eat prepared foods. Last night’s dinner was salad, butternut squash soup with sausage, cooked carrots, and milk for the kids and a half a glass of vino for me and hubby. However, I have some things I LOVE to eat everyday: VINO, Chocolate, and Caffeine!
POSSIBLE CALOIRES BURNED
Spinning for 1 hour = 460 calories
Running 3 miles @ 8 minute mile pace = 444 calories
Yoga for 1 hour = 164 calories
Cycling Outdoors for 1 hour = 658 calories
Pilates for 30 minutes = 115 calories
Cross Country Skiing (if we had snow) for 1 hour = 526 calories
HIGH CALORIE FOODS
Peppermint Mocha with Soy no whip = 320 calories
1 glass of red wine = 123 calories
1 homemade chocolate chip cookies = 250 calories (?)
So, what’s the point of this blog? At the moment, I am spending more calories on food than I am burning! It’s time to calculate some short cuts so I can still have the fun stuff. Fat free cream for the coffee, no butter in the oatmeal, no tortillas with butter, more veggies and fruit. The little things are really becoming the BIG things. I heard on a training tape that the average American eats 52 teaspoons of sugar a day! Holy Cow!! If you’re not paying attention, all the sugar will sneak in to your diet when you think you are doing good.

We don’t watch TV either and we try to “eat in” almost every night. You should share a recipe every once in awhile…
