stroller stridesThe average weight gain for pregnancy is between 20-50 pounds!!! It takes ten months to have a baby and it usually takes 10 months to lose the extra weight. Ryan is 20 months old now and I’m still holding on to 5 pounds of fat! Argh!!

There are some fabulous new programs that have been popping up in cities nationwide just in the last 2-3 years. Stroller Strides, Baby Boot Camp, Stroller Fit are just a few of the franchises that are available to new mommies. The focus for these workouts is primarily to get the new mom back in shape. It’s also designed to encourage new moms who have never worked out before to be successful in an exercise program.

I have personally participated in both Baby Boot Camp and Stroller Strides and found both to be challenging and rewarding. A lot of us moms always focus on the cardio aspect of a workout–”at least I’m burning fat”. However, we won’t lose that weight unless we weight train as well. Both franchises utilize exercise bands in addition to park benches, picnic tables, curbs, and whatever obstacles are at the park to create a complete whole body workout. If some of you are thinking that you’re kid won’t like the stroller for an hour, well, we move every 3-5 minutes and there is a TON of activity for them to be entertained by. We, at Stroller Strides, sing baby songs as well. They are entertained and they do get to get out of the stroller at the end of the workout for abdominal work.

It is more than a workout in the park. Your children will automatically have 20 new children to play with and the moms will gather a network of new friends and lose weight on the way. I highly recommend this program for all expectant and new moms!

It is best that you have the perfect triathlon training schedule to be more effective.
